The Android Distribution Numbers for April-May 2015 have been released.
Android Lollipop gains a foothold of 9.7%, almost triple the number it saw in March (3.3%). The majority of the shares are held by Android 5.0 Lollipop with 9.0%, while the latest iteration of the Google OS Android 5.1, holds just a paltry 0.7%.
Android KitKat has begun to drop, with its usage dropping below 40% for the first time, and currently stands at 39.8%. It is followed very closely by Android Jelly Bean which has a total usage share of 39.2%.
Android Gingerbread still holds 5.7%, while its successor (after Honeycomb obviously) Ice Cream Sandwich holds 5.3%. Froyo is on the verge of disappearing from the Android Distribution Numbers, with a measly 0.3%.
