WhatsApp Messenger has announced that it is adding support for sharing higher quality photos through its app. Here’s how to share an HD photo in WhatsApp Messenger.
The feature had been tested in the beta version of the app recently.
Users will be able to choose which photos should be sent at standard quality or HD quality, we’ll show you this in a bit. The difference between the 2 options is that the HD version preserves the original quality of the image, without compressing it, at the cost of a higher file size. The Standard version or SD, is the default option, it will compress the image to lower the file size, but the quality of the picture takes a hit.
If you have limited internet bandwidth, you can stick to the SD version, as it uses less mobile data and maybe faster to send. But if you’re on unlimited 5G or connected to a Wi-Fi network, you may choose to send the HD version of the image. The Meta-owned messaging service says that all images shared on WhatsApp are end-to-end encrypted.
Install the latest version of WhatsApp from Google Play or the App Store.
