Apple will add a Made for iPhone Duo badge to App Store product pages. It shows buyers which apps are built for the foldable’s large inner screen. Apple also named more than 50 apps that are ready at launch. They include Netflix, Prime Video, Zoom, Slack, Microsoft Word, Instagram and KakaoTalk.

The iPhone Duo goes on sale on Friday, October 23. Apple’s new App Store editorial collections for Duo apps and games go live the same day. Apple says more app updates will roll out through the year.
Why the Made for iPhone Duo badge matters
Not every app will look right on the inner display at launch. We’ve already covered how unoptimized apps run letterboxed on the iPhone Duo. MacRumors now reports that how an app looks depends on which SDK it was built with:
- iOS 26 SDK or earlier: the app sits in the middle of the inner display, with lots of empty space on each side.
- iOS 27 SDK: the app fills most of the inner display but stays clear of the status bar on the right edge.
- iOS 27.1 SDK or later: needed for full optimization.
Apple’s own release says developers can adapt their apps using new and updated APIs in the iOS 27.1 SDK. The badge is the buyer-facing side of that. Check for it before you count on an app working well on the big screen.
One caution: Apple’s list is a launch showcase, not a full census. An app missing from it isn’t necessarily unoptimized.
Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations, framed the developer response in glowing terms. “The response to iPhone Duo from our developer community has been incredible, and we’re inspired by how quickly they’ve embraced its larger display and new ways to interact,” she said. That’s Apple’s own verdict, of course. The real test is how many everyday apps carry the badge in the coming weeks.
