Google released Android 17 QPR2 Beta 7 for Pixel phones on October 9, 2026, and it is a small one. The build fixes exactly two bugs. It arrives as build CP41.260831.016 and carries the October 5, 2026 security patch level.

What Android 17 QPR2 Beta 7 Fixes
Both fixes in this build target bugs that would have been genuinely annoying to live with. Google lists them in its own release notes for the QPR2 beta track.
- Idle battery drain: phones were burning through charge while sitting unused, because the Flip to Shh gesture was keeping the device from entering deep sleep. Tracked as issues #560036427 and #569079944.
- Broken HTTPS downloads: downloads started through the system DownloadManager were failing immediately over HTTPS. Tracked as issue #562833711.
Google’s release notes also flag a known issue specific to the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Owners of that model should expect at least one rough edge to remain. Separately, Google’s notes do not spell out which physical Pixel models can install this beta. Droid-Life puts the range at the Pixel 6a through the current Pixel 11 series. The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are no longer part of the beta track, which follows from their update window having already closed.
How to Install It
If your Pixel is already enrolled in the Android Beta Program at google.com/android/beta, Beta 7 should arrive as a normal over-the-air update. Check Settings for a system update if it has not shown up yet. Anyone who prefers to flash manually can pull the OTA images from developer.android.com instead.
As for what comes next, Droid-Life expects the stable Android 17 QPR2 release in December, alongside the next Pixel Drop. Google has not published a date of its own for that. Beta 7 follows Beta 6.1 in the same sequence.
