Samsung has removed the Galaxy A04s from its official Security Updates page. The 2022 budget phone now receives no software of any kind, security patches included. androidpure checked Samsung’s live security page directly on October 10. The A04s does not appear anywhere on it. The Galaxy A04, A04e, A05 and A05s are all still listed.

The Galaxy A04s Support Record
- Launched: August 31, 2022, on One UI Core 4 (Android 12)
- Major Android upgrades received: two, finishing on One UI 6.1 (Android 14)
- Final security patch: August 2026
- Status now: removed from Samsung’s security updates page
That record lines up with what was promised for this tier at launch. Reporting at the time put the A04s on two major OS upgrades plus roughly three to four years of quarterly security patches. The phone delivered both. This is a support window closing on schedule rather than a commitment being cut short.
Related Budget Models Still Listed
These neighbouring A-series phones were still present on Samsung’s security updates page when we checked on October 10:
- Galaxy A04
- Galaxy A04e
- Galaxy A05
- Galaxy A05s
Their presence means patches are still flowing for now. It says nothing about how long each of them has left.
What Galaxy A04s Owners Should Do
An unpatched phone keeps working, but it stops getting fixes for known vulnerabilities. That exposure grows with every month that passes. A few practical steps help in the meantime:
- Keep every app current through the Play Store, since app-level fixes still arrive
- Leave Play Protect switched on and avoid sideloaded APKs
- Move banking and payment apps to a supported device if you have one
- Plan a replacement rather than waiting for another patch
SamMobile, which spotted the removal, points owners towards the Galaxy A08 as a successor. That deserves a caveat. The A08 has so far shown up mainly in retailer listings and leaks, so its price and availability are not settled.
As of October 10, no official Samsung statement about the A04s cutoff has surfaced. A device dropping off the security page is normally how these dates become public. The Galaxy A23 5G is a similar recent case on the same beat.
