Apple has confirmed October 13 as the date of its next product launch. Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing, posted the date and a two-word tagline on X on October 8. The tagline points squarely at the home, which fits the smart home hub rumors we covered last month.

Welcome home. October 13.

We covered this date as a rumor on September 30, in Apple Will Reportedly Unveil Its Smart Home Hub on October 13. The date itself is no longer a rumor. Everything about what Apple will actually show still is.
What Apple has and has not said about October 13
Joswiak’s post is the whole of Apple’s confirmation so far. As of October 9, no Apple newsroom post or events-page listing has surfaced to go with it. The post itself carries no price, livestream link or RSVP detail.
The format is genuinely unsettled. MacRumors reports that some media have been invited to an Apple Experience in Tribeca, New York, on October 13 at 9:00 a.m. In the same article, though, MacRumors cautions that the timing of the launch is unknown. It adds that it is unclear whether there will be an event component at all, or whether the products simply arrive by press release.
The Verge puts it more firmly, describing an event in New York on October 13 at 9AM ET. So the two outlets differ on whether there is an in-person event and when it begins. Until Apple publishes a stream, treat a public keynote as unconfirmed.
The rumored lineup, clearly labelled
None of the following comes from Apple. It is MacRumors’ own rumor roundup, and it should be read as expectation rather than fact.
- Smart home hub: roughly a 6-inch square display, with wall-mount and half-dome-speaker variants, built around a voice-first Siri. MacRumors says the price could land around $350, which is a rumored figure rather than an announced one.
- HomePod mini refresh: new colors, Apple’s N1 networking chip and a faster S-series chip aimed at Siri’s AI features.
- Apple TV 4K update: an A19 or A19 Pro chip, the N1 chip and a revised Siri Remote.
- OLED iPad mini: listed by MacRumors only as a possibility.
What to watch for on October 13
The sensible move is to wait for Apple’s own announcement before reading any of the rumored specs as settled. October 13 is four days out. How Apple reveals these products will itself be informative. A full stream and a press release imply very different levels of ambition.
