Google has pulled the Pixel Tablet from its online store, and the listing is gone for good. The product page at store.google.com no longer loads the tablet at all — it redirects straight to the Store homepage, with no trace of the device left anywhere on the site except a handful of leftover accessories.
If you already own a Pixel Tablet, nothing changes for you today. Software support does not end with the listing. But if you were hoping to buy one new from Google, that option is off the table, and it doesn’t look like it’s coming back.
What Happens if You Already Own a Pixel Tablet
Google says software updates for the Pixel Tablet are set to continue through 2028, so current owners keep getting security patches and Android version upgrades for a while yet. Android Authority has separately reported the support window runs specifically through June 2028, though that more precise date has not been confirmed on Google’s own support page, which loads its device list dynamically and does not expose the exact cutoff in plain text.
Stock has effectively run out everywhere, not just on Google’s own store. Third-party retailers, including Amazon, show no sellers with the Pixel Tablet in stock. Google closed out its own sales in late August, and the listing was still technically live as recently as August 31, just marked out of stock, before disappearing from the site entirely.
Why This Isn’t a Surprise
Google launched the Pixel Tablet in 2023 as a hybrid device — an Android tablet that doubles as a Nest Hub smart display when docked to its included speaker base. It was the company’s first tablet in years, and reviews at launch were mixed.
A follow-up never arrived. Reports over the past two years described bigger hardware upgrades being planned and then shelved over profitability concerns, with one version reportedly targeted for 2025 and a further redesign for 2027 also cancelled. Pulling the original listing now, with no successor announced, suggests Google is stepping back from the category rather than pausing between generations.
That leaves the Pixel Tablet’s roughly three-year run as the extent of Google’s current tablet ambitions. For anyone who bought one expecting a longer product line to build on, this is a reminder that update support is now the only thing keeping the device current — worth checking that June 2028 window before it becomes relevant.
