Samsung has quietly opened Galaxy Z Fold 8 pre-reservation in India on its official online store, letting buyers put down a fully refundable ₹999 today to lock in a discount voucher ahead of the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22. The company’s India Unpacked microsite is now live with the tagline “Get ready to unfold a new shape!” — but note that Samsung itself does not name any device on the reservation page. It only refers to the “next Galaxy device” and an “Eligible Device,” so if you reserve now, you are booking a slot, not a specific named phone.

How the Galaxy Z Fold 8 pre-reservation works in India
Here is exactly what Samsung’s own page offers, so you know what your ₹999 buys. You pay ₹999 via the “Pre-reserve” button on the Samsung India Store, and this amount is fully refundable. In return, Samsung sends you an assured e-Store credit voucher worth up to ₹2,799 by email and SMS. The company also says reserving now “locks in the highest exchange value” — the best trade-in bonus available before the event, useful if you plan to swap an old phone.
When you eventually buy, the ₹999 is adjusted against the purchase price of the new device. If you do not redeem the voucher by the end of the pre-booking period, it is automatically cancelled and your ₹999 is refunded to the original payment method. The reservation window is open now through July 22, 2026, or until open sales begin, whichever comes first. In practice, the ₹999 is a low-risk way to guarantee a launch-day discount — just remember the credit only pays off if you actually go through with the purchase.
Separately, Samsung India is running a registration contest from July 9 to July 21, where answering trivia-style questions about the upcoming device on the same microsite can win vouchers worth ₹5,000 to ₹50,000.
What Samsung has and hasn’t confirmed
Officially, Samsung Global Newsroom has confirmed the Galaxy Unpacked event for July 22, 2026, in London. The livestream starts at 2 PM BST, which is 6:30 PM IST, and streams on Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom and Samsung’s YouTube channel. Samsung says it will “unveil new Galaxy portfolio additions” with “innovative form factors” for the AI era — but the company has not named a single model in either the invite or the reservation page. We covered the July 22 Unpacked date when Samsung confirmed it last week.
Rumored lineup (unofficial — not from Samsung)
This next part is not confirmed by Samsung. According to reports from GSMArena, 9to5Google, Gadgetbridge and Fonearena, plus India-focused tipster Abhishek Yadav (@yabhishekhd on X), the July 22 event is expected to bring the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, a new Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and the Galaxy Watch 9 series. Treat these names as leaks, not fact, until Samsung says otherwise on stage.
Why can Indian buyers reserve on day one? Because Samsung has historically brought India into the first global wave for this product line — last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7 and Watch 8 series all launched here in the same opening wave, which is why the ₹999 slot is available to you today alongside the rest of the world.
