Motorola has announced the Moto Edge Plus 2022 in the US. The flagship phone is quite identical to Moto Edge 30 Pro that was launched yesterday in India.
The phone is equipped with a 6.7″ Full HD+ OLED panel that supports 144 Hz Refresh Rate, and runs on Android 12 with MyUX 3.0, out of the box. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, with 12GB RAM and 512GB of storage.
The Edge Plus 2022 supports 5G, 4G LTE cell networks, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, GPS, AGPS, LTEPP, SUPL,Glonass, Galileo, and Beidou. The main cameras on the back of the phone consists of a 50MP, f/1.88 aperture lens that supports Optical Image Stabilization, a 50MP ultra-wide angle sensor with an 117° FOV, an f/2.2 aperture, a 2MP lens and an LED Flash. The front camera is a 60MP selfie lens with an f/2.2 aperture.
The device packs a 4800mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging via a USB Type-C connector. The phone weighs 196g and measures 163.06 x 75.95 x 8.79mm. The handset has a side-mounted fingerprint reader for biometric security. Unfortunately, the Edge Plus 2022 does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack, and relies on the Stereo Speakers, and USB Type-C port for audio playback. The phone is rated IP52 for Splash Resistance.
Difference between the Moto Edge Plus 2022 and Moto Edge 30 Pro
The Moto Edge Plus 2022 supports 30W Fast Charging, as opposed to 68W for the Edge 30 Pro. The Edge Plus 2022 model supports 5G sub-6GHz networks and mmWave (Verizon). The US exclusive version has 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, compared to the 8GB/128GB model sold in India.
