A new affordable series from OnePlus i.e. OnePlus Z series probably is on your way. Do you remember OnePlus X launched by OnePlus five years ago, touted as the premium mid-range device from the company? You can read our review of OnePlus X here. OnePlus abandoned the X series later and left the users in the lurch, insisting to focus on a single product. It seems OnePlus is returning to the mid-range market with a new series which again being marketed as affordable. The official announcement for this new affordable series is made at the company community forum, followed by social media channels. OnePlus is yet to name the series, but rumours indicate that it may be the OnePlus Z series.
The social media channels for the new series is already live and comes with the account handle of onepluslitezthing clearly indicating the new series name. It may be named as OnePlus Z series in India while it may be named as OnePlus lite series in other regions such as Europe. The onepluslitezthing Instagram account is still private and you cannot access any details from it.

The official announcement indicates that the OnePlus Z series will initially be launched only in India and Europe, followed by North America in the near future. The new affordable series product team is led by Paul Yu.
As we have always done when we try something new, we are going to start relatively small with this new product line by first introducing it in Europe and India. But don’t worry, we’re also looking to bring more affordable smartphones to North America in the near future as well.
OnePlus Z Specification (Rumored)
At the moment, not much is known about the upcoming OnePlus Z series officially including the name, but rumours indicate that it packs a 6.55-inch FHD+ AMOLED 90Hz display, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 processor along with support for 5G mobile networks. The chipset will be assisted by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The OnePlus Z may be backed by a 4300mAh battery and support 30W Fast Charging. In terms of camera, it is rumoured to feature a 64MP primary sensor, a 16MP secondary camera which is likely a wide-angle lens, and a 2MP depth sensor.
