Xiaomi has begun teasing the launch of a new phone, on Weibo. The device in question is called the Xiaomi Mi CC9.

Xiaomi Mi CC9

This is a new series which is designed for youth. The teaser image posted by the company, features a selfie photo, and clearly mentions that the Mi CC9 will have a 32MP front camera.

Early leaks hint that the phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor, and runs on MIUI 10 based on Android Pie. The device will sport a 6.39-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, and features an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Here’s a leaked photo of the Mi CC9.

The phone seen in the picture has minimal bezels, a slight chin, and no notch or punch-hole camera. That could only mean one thing, the Mi CC9 will have a pop-up selfie camera.

In terms of optics, the Xiaomi Mi CC9 has 3 rear cameras comprising of a 48MP Sony IMX 586 primary camera, a 16MP wide-angle lens, and a 12MP camera.

The Xiaomi Mi CC9 is backed by a 4,000 mAh battery which will support 27W fast charging over a USB Type-C port. The device could also feature the traditional Infrared Blaster that Xiaomi has on most of its phones.

Rumour has it that there will be a lower-end variant called the Mi CC9e. We will know more when the Xiaomi Mi CC9 is launched on July 2nd.
