Just few hours before the end of March 31st Deadline, Reliance JIO has just announced extension of Jio Prime offer. Now you can get Reliance JIO prime till April 15th if you have not subscribed to the Jio Prime, though today was the last day to do so. Apart from this extension, Jio also announced the Jio Summer Surprise for its JIO PRIME members. Under this new offer, every JIO PRIME member, when they make their first paid recharge prior to 15 th April using Jio’s Rs 303 plan (or any higher value plan), will get services for the initial 3 months on a complimentary basis i.e. the consumer will get the services free for next three months and the paid tariff plan will be applied only in July, after the expiry of the complimentary service.

Jio Prime Fineprints: Max 1 device for Hotspot, NO Night unlimited, Minimum 149 Recharge

Reliance Jio has introduced Prime subscriptions for its 4G LTE subscribers in India and introduced new plans for its Prime Subscribers. Existing consumers need to sign up for Jio Prime membership by paying the one time subscription fees of  Rs. 99 before 31st March 2017 and then can opt for a plan starting April 1st 2017 after Jio Happy New Offer ends which offered free calls, data and SMS till March 31st 2017. One of the plans available for Jio Prime consumers lets you pay Rs. 303 with a 28 days validity period, extends the benefits of Happy New Year offer with some riders though. Apart from this Rs. 303 plan, the company is offering even more expensive plans  to suit everyone needs.

In this post, we will talk about some of the fine prints of Reliance Jio Prime Membership and its plans.

Maximum One (1) Device can be connected via Hotspot / Tethering

If you go through the terms and conditions of the Prime Tariff plan details, you will find an interesting note which puts a restriction on number of devices that you can connect to the Hotspot from your Jio Connection.

The user device may be used as a personal hotspot connection (this is also known as tethering) for up to 1 device only at a time.

We are not sure how they will implement this to each user, but that’s not a big task and tethering restrictions have been implemented by LTE carriers in US and other countries.

This limit may affect those consumers who use the Hotspot feature from a single SIM for connecting more than one devices at the same time.

NO Night unlimited Data

Reliance Jio has silently removed the unlimited Night data (downloads / uploads) from all its Prime plans. With Happy New Year offer, users  can use unlimited data at night (2 AM – 5 AM). With these new plans, unlimited night data will not be available to Jio Prime members.

Minimum 149 Recharge needed every 28 days, else you lose Prime Membership

Consumers need to recharge with minimum Rs. 149 every 28 days to keep the Prime Membership alive. If you miss to recharge with minimum 149 per month, the company holds the right to deactivate Prime subscription. The language though is not so clear that it indeed will cancel the subscription, yet it appears more like that.

Apart from the above mentioned fineprints, the Prime subscription comes with more fineprints but they are not as critical as these three are. Hence before signing up for the subscription, you should read the terms conditions, fineprints so that you are fully aware of what you are signing up for.
