Samsung traditionally launches its flagship phone every year during the Mobile World Congress, which is held during the first week of March, in Barcelona.
But things may be changing next year.
According to a new report, the South Korean electronics giant, could be planning to launch the Samsung Galaxy S7, early next year. Samsung will reportedly announce the Galaxy S7 in January, and begin selling the phone early in February, a whole month ahead of the MWC. Normally the phones are announced in March, and are sold from April. The change in the launch and sales timing, could be a strategical marketing move to boost Samsung’s coffers.
The report also goes on to claim, that there will be two variants of the Samsung Galaxy S7. One will be powered by the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, while the other variant will be powered by Samsung’s in-house octa-core Exynos chipset. The 2016 flagship phone could even come in two models with different screen sizes like the S6 and the S6 Edge.
We have already seen a benchmark of the Galaxy S7 which was leaked earlier this month, which also suggested the phone is powered by a Snapdragon 820 chipset
