Latest Android Distribution Statistics show that Lollipop runs on less than 0.1% of devices

The latest Android Distribution Statistics were released to the Google Dashboard today.

Android Usage Statistics December 2014

And guess what? Android Lollipop runs on less than 0.1% of devices.

The pie-chart featured above is straight from Google, and shows the distribution of the various versions of the Android OS.

Here is a table which shows the percentage of distribution of the same:

OS versionAndroid OS% Devices
2.2Froyo0.5
2.3.xGingerbread9.1
4.0.4Ice Cream Sandwich7.8
4.1.xJelly Bean21.3
4.2.xJelly Bean20.4
4.3Jelly Bean7.0
4.4KitKat33.9

If you are wondering why Lollipop is missing in both the table and the pie-chart, it is because Google does not show the statistics of OS versions which have less than 0.1% distribution. And that is how we are able to conclude the usage stats of Lollipop devices.

This is not surprising, since Google is yet to roll out the update for some of the Nexus devices.
