Till today Google Now launcher was one of the features that was available only on devices running Android 4.4 Kitkat and many users running older versions of Android wanted to get that on their devices too. It seems Google just heard a bit of that feedback and has released today the Google Now Launcher for all devices that run Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and higher.
As you already know that Google Now Launcher gives you a clean and simple home screen which can be customized along with one swipe access to Google Now cards without the need to open any app from your home screen directly. Apart from that, tapping the search box or saying “Ok Google” lets you ask a question or search the web.
