The BlackBerry Messenger App for Android was leaked on XDA but it is not usable as of now.

You can’t use it, unless you have a BBID account that has been whitelisted by BlackBerry. But that doesn’t stop us from trying it, does it?

The app was originally leaked at the same thread and the file was hosted by Mediafire but it was removed for violating their Terms of Service. We know that it really means, it was taken down by the BB guys.

But another XDA Member has uploaded the app for users to try out,  you can download the BBM app from this link.

CrackBerry announced that BlackBerry released a statement regarding the leaked app:

The excitement around the upcoming launch of BBM for Android and iPhone users is amazing. We want to thank everyone for their enthusiasm, but wanted to let people know that the program is structured so that only those in the beta will be able to use the app. The version we’ve seen on the Web in the last couple of days can be downloaded, but will not work on devices that are not approved in the beta program.

And adding to the excitement was the Samsung Nigeria Twitter account, who announced that the app will be released on Friday, September 20th and that the Korean Smartphone giant will have a 3 month exclusivity for the app.

YES WE DID!!!! Available frm Friday RT @supersanusi: If Samsung really did get the 3 month exclusive like I heard, that would be something

I was guessing, it will be available on Samsung Apps for that period. But this was not the case.

CrackBerry again revealed another announcement by Victoria Berry,  BBM Communications Director at BlackBerry

The excitement around the upcoming BBM launch on iPhone and Android devices seems to know no bounds. Although I’m a big fan of this passion, I want to clarify that no one will have an exclusive on offering BBM. We’ll be bringing the app to Android and iPhone users across the globe soon.
